Shark Diving in South Africa

The dive centre was in Simons Town, a 2-hour bus ride from my hotel… but it was worth it! A small H&S talk and before I knew it we were in the boat heading to Seal Island. It wasn’t long before we had our first encounter. Swimming about 10m away was the biggest fish I had ever seen. To see that fin coming out of the water was just like in the movies. It was time to jump in the cage just in time for two massive Great Whites to be circling the boat. 6 meters long they glide through the water with ease, turning direction with a whip of their tail.

A once in a lifetime experience that I would strongly recommend to anyone. One piece of advice…. Seasickness tablets (the boat ride home was not as enjoyable).
